Airports and Aviation
As the world returns to ‘business as usual’ we see governments, airlines, airports and the media increasing efforts to fill the skies with planes again. There should be No Going Back to the industries that are causing the most damage in this climate and ecological crisis.
The cancellation of Heathrow Airport expansion sent a ‘clear sky’ signal; this is an industry that needs phasing out, not promoting and propping up with bailouts.
This is a sector which needs to drastically reduce emissions to reduce it’s huge impact on the climate crisis, yet governments are sending a very different signal by allowing increasing flight numbers, runway expansions and no strings attached airline bailouts.
Local groups, affinity groups, communities and even regions are encouraged to think big, work together and start planning autonomously. Involve every aspect of XR in the planning (regen, wellbeing, arts, police liaison, etc, etc) and get your local media and messaging teams involved. Decentralised but unified across the UK in timing!
More information coming soon including legal, health and safety briefing notes and local press release.
